Haydn Thompson - Founder of Sunshine Village

For the past 20 years Haydn has been the Managing Director of Japan Package Tours. With offices in both Melbourne and Sydney, JPT has specialised in school group, individual and special interest group travel to Japan.

Haydn previously lived in Nagano and Yamanashi for 18 months and immediately fell in love with its beauty, charm and local hospitality for which both Prefectures are famous.

Having seen joy that his parents have gained from retirement village living in Australia, he has assembled a Team of experts that can introduce this concept to Japan.

Haydn is excited to introduce the Sunshine Village concept to Japan which will provide "active silvers" in retirement wonderful opportunities of enjoyment and new friendships.

Tomoo Matsuda - Research director and chief producer on active aging society

Tomoo Matsuda has been specializing in community revitalization and new industry creation in a super aging society as a Research Director of the Mitsubishi Research Institute (MRI) in Tokyo.

He founded MRI's new policy proposal project the Platinum Society Association in 2010. Now almost 520 members from industry, government, and academia all over Japan have joined this Association.

He has been conducted many research projects with the public and private clients,
and has been serving as committee member and advisor as follows.
*Cabinet Office: Aging society forum committee.
*Cabinet Secretariat: Japan version Continuing Care Retirement Community advisory council
*OECD: Roundtable lead speaker on a resilient city in aging society in 2014.
*Kochi prefecture: Local vitalizing promotion council
*Ishikawa prefecture: Niche and top company evaluation Committee

He is also co-author of the book Future of Japan where elderly shining and The market trend in Japan implicated from 30 thousands people interviews.

He graduated from Keio university, faculty of law department of political science in 1989. He is also a visiting professor of Kochi university since 2014.

Daniel Milentijevic - Director Plan A Project Management Development Manager

Daniel is a senior property development executive with a track record of delivering profitable projects specialising in the retirement living sector. Daniel brings deep market insights regarding changing customer preferences in the creation of greenfield or brownfield/mixed use retirement village developments.

As a former Victorian State Manager for Stockland Retirement Living, Daniel built up a pipeline of projects comprising brownfield redevelopment, mixed use retail/apartments and new greenfield projects with an end value of $900m. Daniel's retirement living experience also includes a period as Development Director with Australian Unity Retirement Living where he managed delivery of their Victorian and NSW aged care and retirement village development portfolios.
Daniel was a past Chairman of the Planning Subcommittee of the Retirement Living Council which advocated for changes to Victorian planning rules to encourage the development of more Retirement Villages. Daniel was a keynote speaker and recognised as an industry expert at numerous events, including the annual Property Council Retirement Living conference. His executive experience also included two years working in Tokyo, Japan on significant projects for clients including Credit Suisse and Hilton Hotels as well as many years working for tier one building contractors.
Daniel holds a Master's degree in Project Management and a Bachelor of Construction Economics.

Robert Caulfield - Caulfield Kravinek Architects

With a career spanning 4 decades, Robert Caulfield is an internationally renowned architect with great experience developing projects in Australia, China, Dubai, UAE, India, Iran and Vietnam. He is the founder of and for 31 years the managing director of Archicentre Limited, Australia's largest building advisory group. He appears frequently on T.V. and radio and in the media discussing all aspects of buying, building and renovating buildings. Robert is known for having strong commercial acumen and recognises that a project's success not only depends on its design, but also on the viability of its delivery. In 2003, Robert was awarded the coveted Centenary Medal for Services to Architecture.

Anne Kemp - Managing Director of Retirement Life Solutions

Anne is an expert in retirement living and will advise us on matters such as design considerations, sustainability, additional income streams for villages, management agreement options and sales & marketing.

Her incredible resume of successes include Maningtree Hawthorn, The Benson Toorak, St Joseph's Mews Hawthorn, Barnsbury Apartments, St Thomas Village Greensborough North and many more. Her knowledge, wealth of experience and numerous contacts in the retirement village industry makes Anne a wonderful asset to the Sunshine Village Team.

Lindsay Roser - Corporate Governance and Strategy Advisor

Lindsay has worked in the resources, technology and consumer products sectors for over 40 years. His corporate roles with BHP and IBM included full P&L responsibility and he has managed businesses in the USA, Asia Pacific, and the UK. While living in the USA he founded his own software development company. This start-up successfully developed innovative technology in the search engine, data mining, and predictive analytics arenas and was subsequently acquired by a Fortune 500 technology multinational.

Lindsay resides in Hobart, Tasmania. His ongoing business interests include Board, non-executive Advisory as well as investment roles with a seaweed-based bio packaging start-up, an Australia wide waste plastics recovery and stewardship programme, an animal free protein consumer products start-up, a fintech trading system for hedge funds and a digital identity verification and security start-up. He is also the Australian Board Advisor for USA based venture fund Digitalis Ventures.
Lindsay has a particular interest in the development of science-based IP and its commercialisation potential.

Lindsay is an Adjunct Fellow at Southern Cross University NSW, and a founding Board member of its start-up incubator: the SCU Enterprise Lab. He is also an Associate of the University of Tasmania.

Lindsay has undergraduate qualifications in Finance and Economics and a PhD. in Econometrics. He also holds dual USA and Australian nationality.

Timothy Gregersen - Tokyo - Land Purchase

Timothy is originally from Toronto, Canada but has over 10 years experience in Japan. He is fluent in Japanese and is one of very few North American born real estate professionals in Japan to hold a Takken license (Licensed Japanese Real Estate Agent).

Timothy specializes in cross border transactions and has worked with institutional and high-net worth investors from throughout the APAC region in their acquisition of Japanese property. He also works on outbound transactions, advising Japanese institutional investors on overseas acquisitions.

Timothy is assisting Sunshine Village negotiate with the owners of the land in both Miyota and Okayama.

Benjamin Drinkwalter - Due Diligence

Benjamin is the Country Director for Japan and he is responsible for all our core service lines, which include Project Management, Integrated Facilities Management and Workplace Solutions. He is responsible for ensuring AXES consistently provides best-in-class service for tenant services, fit-out construction, developments, design & build and contract management in Japan. He combines western best practices with local experiences and expertise to provide clients with a strategic and proactive solution.

Benjamin has 16 years of experience in Japan, with 13 of those years in the Designing and Project Management industry. He is a corporate office fit-out specialist with a proven track record of delivery. Benjamin's effective communication between global and local stakeholders allows him to consistently exceed client goals and objectives. Prior to starting AXES, Benjamin was the Country Director for Brookfield Global Integrated Solutions in Japan and also served as the Head of Project Services for the Corporate Fit-Out and Construction Consulting Departments for one of the largest Commercial Real Estate Services company globally.

Jordan Perryman - Due Diligence

Jordan is responsible for the oversight and development of the project management business for AXES in Japan. He is focused on setting the standards within the Japanese business to ensure clients experience the highest level of service from his team. Jordan endeavors to ensure all clients feel confident that all aspects of their projects are attentively managed by experienced professionals. He prioritises the core values of project management being time, cost and quality, and strives to deliver successful outcomes to the clients in a custom-fit, innovative and efficient service package.

Jordan speaks Japanese fluently and has worked in the country for 15 years in architecture and project management. He brings with him a wide network of consultants, vendors and suppliers. Jordan has successfully completed over 100,000 sqm of commercial, residential and embassy projects in Tokyo. Prior to starting AXES, and working, he successfully delivered a number of new build condos, hotels and residencies for a developer in Niseko, Hokkaido, totally over 20,000 sqm. He has extensive knowledge of the construction industry in Japan and excels in control measures and project foresight.

Masahito Watanabe - Due Diligence

Masahito specializes in providing MEP (Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing) design control services. He is able to:

Provide and co-ordinate the MEP Engineering Management of the works

Produce MEP reports as required by the client

Provide MEP cost plans and financial advice as required by the client
